The group of 8th graders I have this year are starving for an education. They get excited anytime I tell them that they are doing something new. I teach Pre-Algebra and an honors class of high school Algebra 1. I have one or two kids who struggle with reading but absolutely love coming to math. I use various technologies in the classroom ranging from practice websites with standard aligned practice, a service that allows students to use their cell phones in a poll format, a class set of clickers, and my IPAD.
