My students attend school in a lower income, urban neighborhood. Most of the students are on free or reduced lunch and can not afford tablets for me to create a BYOD environment. Our funding is cut short and not even enough to purchase one tablet. My students are bright but lack the resources to get others to see their full potential. Most of my students are don't even have enough money to eat. I teach at the same school I graduated from because I want to inspire them to work had and make a life for themselves. My students are photography and design students looking to make a career of the arts. Our school has been a failing school and I think that using Edmodo.com daily will help our scores and change the learning climate. Students are not prepared for graduation let alone college. With your help, I am hoping that the tablets will create a leveled playing field. Students will be able to apply for colleges and upload their work to e-portfolios as well as practice for the ACT and SAT.
