Many children in my classroom have showed a large interest building and creating throughout the school year. The Magna Tiles, Window Blocks, and Light and Tabletop Blocks will be used to investigate light and shadows. They will use the lights and shadows to problem solve, write and illustrate stories and work collaboratively with peers. The Ramps and Balls Exploration Set and Create A Chain Reaction will be used to investigate ramps and pathways, cause and effect, and critical thinking skills. Investigating ramps and pathways and lights and shadows ignites creativity in a child's brain. Children learn best through hands-on materials. There is no "right" way to play/create with ramps, lights or shadows. The children will have more opportunity with these materials to investigate problems and solutions. I believe that my classroom is full of future problem solvers and engineers. I would love to have the materials available to them to foster their development and curiosity.
