Every day I am honored to greet 24 fabulous fifth grade students. Each of them is so unique, with different needs, abilities, backgrounds, styles, and, most importantly, interests. Our curriculum has become more and more narrow through the years, with little opportunity for individualizing instruction to encourage each child to seek out topics of interest. They are becoming more complacent learners and don't seek out as many opportunities to think outside the box and follow their passions. I want to work to change that. I want them to always look for a new approach, to find what makes them excited about learning, and take ownership of their learning process.

About my class
