Students will be researching their families' histories and traditional ways of living, and writing essays which will be compiled into a book similar to the Foxfire series of books. While reading "Travels with Foxfire" and excerpts from other Foxfire books in class, students will be conducting interviews, researching, and writing while at home. They will also be engaging in studies of DNA, genetics, and heredity. While the Foxfire series focuses on Appalachian histories, these students have the freedom to research their own family histories which are often worldwide, and how those histories are combined to make Georgia what it is today.
