Items purchased will be used in dramatic play to integrate the arts with social studies content. The puppet show theater, doll house, dolls, and household play items will help deepen my students understanding of families and their responsibilities. They can also develop my students understanding of play and friendship as they model social skills with these play items. Understanding of different types of transportation and shelters will be increased as they learn how to build with Frontier Logs and the train set. Their understanding of geography and globes will be strengthened as they use the globe in their play. These items will be used not only by this class, but many classes to come. These items are important because they will develop my students' abilities to be creative and make decisions, as well as learn social studies and drama standards. My students motivation to learn will be increased as they find great joy in their learning. Their oral vocabulary will increase as they communicate using content vocabulary with their peers. The students will also develop social skills and learner dispositions.
