  • Air-Chilled Algebra

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for your amazing generosity! Students will be supremely grateful for the contribution, and it will make it much more possible for them to concentrate on the things that matter: like their learning!

I am continuously impressed by the support that complete strangers show my classroom on DonorsChoose, and it gives me hope for the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gardner

  • Carts & Chords

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

Thank you for your generosity! I am supremely grateful for your gifts, and I assure you they will be put to good use.

With these materials, a safe and socially-distanced return to school is even more likely. I am truly grateful for your support, and I know my students will be as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gardner

  • Math at Home

    Funded Jul 31, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity and support! Students having access to graph-paper notebooks and geometry tools at home made a massive difference in their ability to engage in challenging mathematics despite the pandemic challenges.

Students reacted with gratitude as they opened their geometry toolkits and decorated their notebooks. One student noted "I don't know how I would have kept [everything] together without the notebook,"

We are starting a transition back into the classroom, and we will continue to make use of the tools and the notebooks as we finally meet one another in person. I look forward to pushing kids in their exploration of mathematics, which will be that much easier using the tools you generously provided us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gardner

  • Infinity, Explication, and Beyond

    Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you so much for all your support of my students! We are thrilled to not have to beg and borrow further for needed mathematics materials like calculators and staplers. Now I can teach them how to use the calculators they'll need for important exams like the SATs instead of hoping they're ACTUALLY using the calculator function on their smartphones!

And even after a year of making use of the poster paper rolls, we haven't run out! Students love the ability to adjust their poster sizes depending on the project needs- and my favorite poster of all time (a 10-foot data display of every high schooler's GPA and hours spent studying each week) was only possible because of your generosity.

My English Learner students in particular are grateful for the use of this new tool, as it allows them consistent reference points built from their classmates' (and their own) work. Meaningful mathematics instruction requires us to display information, data, and thinking visibly, and that would not be possible without the support you provided my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Gardner

Students at my school love learning about the wonders of mathematics and the intricacies of numbers. The idea that infinity exists between 0 and 1, and not just in the outer reaches of numeracy, astounds and excites them. But they need materials to explore the world around them! I don't have a class set of calculators, which makes it challenging to analyze exponential and quadratic functions in the real world. With this classroom set, my students would be ready to take on complex calculations and engineering challenges. We ask students to push themselves deeper into the mathematics by making meaning of complex tasks and explaining their thinking to others. We need butcher paper rolls to give students plenty of practice at creating posters and diagrams that show off their intricate mathematical thought. I also just need some good quality staplers for students to use, and it's frustrating that we live in a world where it's easier to crowd-source them than get them through our school district!
