My school is located in the heart of NYC and the students mirror the character of the city. The students represent a variety of cultures and a range of family backgrounds. A large majority of my students come from homes identified as low income status. Students attending the school come from the local community and for generations have sought out an education to enable them to succeed in the demands of metropolitan living. The school has many successes of students attending universities and colleges as well as acquiring jobs and careers after graduating. However, these triumphs are not widespread and not high in number. The students attending my school deserve access to a quality education and adequate resources to enrich learning.
