I teach science to an awesome group of 15-18 year old public high school students. They are diverse culturally and economically. Some are classified as living in poverty based on family income level. Some have to manage substantial challenges as they pursue their educations, including different physical abilities and learning disabilities. While 100% of my students could go to college, about half of them end up not going for various reasons. Many join the military, and a lot of them go to work full time after high school. Each year I lose a few, usually for behavior and life events, sometimes because of academics or economics. My students are fun-loving, generous of spirit, and tend to enjoy science (especially labs and hands-on learning activities). I am totally committed to providing them the best educational experience possible. With your help, we can make school even better for these wonderful young people.
