My class allows students to gain real world experience in the field of architecture. Two of the main computer programs that are used in the field of architecture today are AutoCAD and Revit. I teach these skills in my class. These programs help students gain a skill that they can use in college or directly in the real world as a draftsman. However, the work that they do is limited to their computer screens. A color printer would allow my students to share their projects with the class. This gives the students a chance to critique the work of their peers an important skill in both the academic and business world. Students need to learn how to present and explain their work to the public. This will also prepare them for college as well as equip the students with confidence when they present to clients.
