My students are very excited about music. They love to learn and always give 100%. For a lot of them singing is their passion and a way to escape from the problems that they may face from day to day. These kids come from some of the most dangerous neighborhoods in New Haven where drugs, violence and poverty are a norm. Although this is the situation they still come to school with an open mind ready to learn. I enjoy teaching new material that they may not be familiar to them. The looks on their faces and the excitement that they show when a piece finally comes together is like no other. These students are truly amazing and deserve the best.
