My students will travel to a local nature preserve to explore local habitats in our community. Students will be guided with staff from the North Carolina Wildlife Foundation, Great Outdoor University. This experience will increase their background experience in order to apply new knowledge to classroom learning. Throughout their adventure, students will use iPad digital computers to record findings and explain in written and oral format into a digital book. Students will work with partners to speak and write using English vocabulary to explain their findings along the trail. Each book the students create will include photos and recordings that can later be enhanced and edited for more details.
