Having flexible seating in my classroom will allow my students to be engaged and on task no matter where they are seated in the classroom. Differentiation and flexibility should not only be limited to instruction. Sitting upright in a traditional chair and table setting does not work for everyone. Giving my students the opportunity to choose where they want to sit as opposed to assigned seats is a big deal and makes them feel empowered. With several options to choose from, my kindergartners can sit where they want in the classroom, where they can concentrate and be comfortable while working. The possibilities are endless when their minds are at ease.
