Our school is a recent turnaround school. Scoring a failing grade three years consecutively our school lost it's charter and was taken over by the school district two weeks before school began. While other public schools were determining back to school activities we were working our hardest to make sure students had access to books. As a K-8 school our three computer labs can not adequately meet the needs of all students. Bringing tablets into the classroom would allow students much needed time with technology as we do not have any in-class computers. This would allow them to utilize technology for reading, writing, math and much needed academic intervention programs. If we are to help these struggling students catch up it is essential that we have the necessary materials. These tablets will make a tremendous difference in these student's lives and their academic performance.
