To encourage effective student learning, the physical structure of the classroom must address the diverse ways in which students acquire information. The creation and implementation of a 21st Century flexible classroom would have a positive impact on the way they engage, analyze, synthesize knowledge, and communicate with one another. Movement is human nature and allowing children to indulge in active and flexible seating helps them listen and learn on a whole new level. Giving my students options such as a table closer to the floor or a wobble chair will allow them to move regularly to keep their bodies busy while their minds are learning. When students are given an opportunity to take an active role in their own learning, we notice that they begin to have a more positive growth mindset in all aspects of their life.
