Due to COVID-19, we will be starting our school year with distance learning. These materials requested will provide my students with assistance to reach the best learning resources for the situation being. This pandemic has influenced many financially. As it is, we are a low-income community and, with this pandemic, times are tough(er). I recall growing up in my community in the same district as a student and being so nervous when it came to back-to-school shopping. Many children face adversity at the end of each summer of choosing either one or the other school supply in order to meet their parent's budgets. I know that having all of these materials from day one will help with giving these students equal learning ground when it comes to doing so from home. One pencil box with pencils, erasers, glue, highlighter, markers, crayons along with a composition writing book and plenty of paper accessible to them will go SUCH a long way!
