Starting a new classroom, I found that I still needed many resources to be able to implement my lesson plans. I only had about 20 books to start with, and I am working on building my collection so that I have enough books to read to the children throughout the year. I also needed more manipulatives to teach children their math skills during our small group work. I have also ordered some science items for the children to use in both free play time and in small groups. I believe that having many hands-on experiences with the children in my classroom is a beneficial way for them to learn the skills they need to be kindergarten ready.
