We Are Scientists! Plant, Watch It Grow, and LEARN! Our students need a hands on opportunity to engage them in science through watching plants grow before their eyes! Our Students at the Henry B. Burkland are inquisitive as well as motivated to learn. Science is an area we are continuously using to engage our students through a hands on approach. There is nothing more rewarding than to see the excitement on our students' faces when they have opportunities to see things grow and change before their own eyes! I am requesting five Root Viewers, one for each classroom, to give all of our grade one students the same equal opportunities to be scientists! The goal is to emphasis students as Scientists in a fun and engaging way!
