A listening center is a CD player with headphones that my children will be able to use independently and during free choice time. I will add it to my library center in my classroom. The children will be able to choose a book and listen to a story being read to them on a cd either alone or with friends. When children sit and listen to stories they will gain listening skills, literacy skills, language skills and calming skills that will help them get ready for their next step (Kindergarten). I'm excited to see how their interest in books and their language skills just from being able to independently open a book, and follow along as they listen to it be read.
