Students are more engaged when they have freedom of choice, and my students need to choose how and in what setting they work! Providing new furniture and access to consistent, reliable technology is a small step towards increasing engagement with the writing process. This year, I am attempting to gamify--adding elements of games--to my curriculum. By using different types of motivation for my different students, I believe that I can engage with and encourage my diverse students to become life-long readers, writers and learners! To accomplish this goal, I am seeking a class Chromebook cart, as my English department shares three carts between 19 teachers. With one dedicated cart for my students, they will always have the technology and tools that they need!
