I am seeking donations for a Finder 3D printer for my students because of its high ratings in the educational community. The open face will allow students the opportunity to watch as the printer creates their objects. With technology in schools becoming more and more important with time, the use of digital fabrication in the art classroom is one of the most exciting new ways for students to turn their 2D designs into 3D projects. I want to teach my students about this form of art because it can be used in many different applications using the same equipment. An example of a project I want to do this year, is for the students to create their own buildings by studying their favorite architecture. All of the students will take their building and place it together with other buildings to create a community of different structures. It teaches the students to think conceptually about how design, style, gravity or connections will affect the over all project.
