I need yoga/exercise mats for my physical education program. My school does not have a gymnasium, so my students have to exercise on a hard tile floor in a regular classroom. It would be great to be able to teach my students yoga classes along with floor exercises that will not hurt their joints. Teaching yoga will give my students a life skill that they can carry into adulthood and help them stay mentally and physically fit. Research shows that students who exercise on a regular basis have an increased self esteem and perform higher in their core subject areas. Having these yoga/exercise mats will give students a way to deal with their every days stressors more appropriately. I would be most appreciative if this could be funded because this school has never had yoga introduced to the classroom.
