Since my school has never had a music program in the past, it has been pretty difficult to get and hold student interest. Much of this is due to a lack of resources available. There are very few instruments in the school but having a whole section on Ukulele would help peak the interest of the students. Having instruments to peak my learners interest, they would benefit from a wide range of new material to learn and take with them for the rest of their life. They would learn about how string instruments produce sound, a variety of repertoire, and a lifelong skill to use in the future. This gives the students an outlet to be creative and a new way to have fun by making the best music possible. My goal is to gain enough instrumental interest to take this program to the next level at the school.
