Many of my students come to school without notebooks and pencils. By assisting with pencils to complete their work, dry erase markers to demonstrate understanding of math concepts, and paper to take notes, complete a vocabulary wall and create hands-on learning experiences, you are letting them know that you believe in them. I ask my students to keep their writing tools moving from bell to bell. They love task cards and walk about activities; they check the word wall for vocabulary definitions during the lesson. Please help me, help them close the math achievement gap.
