Can you imagine starting high school when you struggle to read at the 4th grade level? Then you are put in a reading intervention class and are supposed to be able to listen to books as you read but the Cd's skip and the players break? This is the frustration my students face daily. MP3 players will have a huge impact on my student's reading practice. With the iPod shuffle my students will be able to easily listen to the audio version of their books as they follow along. This is helps students to further connect how a word sounds to what it looks like. As many of these students also have an auditory processing problem, they need to constantly see what is being explained to them. This is where a document camera will be helpful. These materials will make such a difference in my classroom. My students are bright but have so many challenges to overcome. Your donations will help them gain the skills they need to succeed.
