I strive to incorporate many styles of learning within each lesson presented to my students. The tar filled jar is a great visual to show students exactly what you're doing to your lungs when choosing to use tobacco products. When students can physically learn by touching something, the entire atmosphere of learning will change. This is exactly what I anticipate happening when students are engaged and working with the simulated "smoker's lungs" versus the set of healthy lungs. It seems that students are trying tobacco products at a younger age. I need to change their mindset and make sure they are aware of the harm that they are doing to their bodies, even after only one cigarette.
