The kids enrolled in the course range from freshmen to seniors in high school. My high school is in a rural area 30 miles east of Cincinnati, Ohio. Many of the students come from farming families and have few opportunities for enrichment programs. Because of the relatively low income level of the area, we do not charge a fee for the courses I teach. This fee would typically cover the needed equipment however, if there was a fee for the course, it would then prohibit some students from enrolling in the course. This is why we have asked for donations to support the course.
