Our school serves a community that is mostly made of free and reduced lunches. The students are very friendly, but because of their life outside school, the moment they are angered the resort to their fists. They are filled with creative ideas and want to do so much, but have no output. The homeroom classrooms are very structured and scripted because of the programs that are in place in order to meet common core standards with the lack of funding and materials. The kids from K-6 grade are all pushed to continuously do work all day except for their times to be free for recess, lunch recess and second recess for grades k-4.
