It has been proven that in order to be better learners, students must be comfortable in the environment they are taught; including frequent movement throughout their days in order to better focus on various tasks. I am currently working on transitioning my classroom into a flexible seating layout, where students have the opportunity to move throughout the day and are given choices on where to sit for optimal learning and engagement. We are currently seeking yoga/balance balls, bouncy bands for chairs, wobble chairs, and yoga mats for our classroom. In addition to this frequent movement, we are also working on dealing with the stresses that many students face today and are looking for stress relief squeeze balls, to incorporate into our classroom Brain Breaks. By donating to our classroom, you will be assisting students in increasing their levels of learning, participation, positive attitude, and academic achievement!
