Currently, my kiddos only have access to technology through Chromebooks. Although Chromebooks are a great resource, it's not always a great choice for my students with significant visual and fine motor deficits. An iPad will help a select number of my students independently engage in the reading intervention program taught in the special education setting. Students can easily manipulate the features on the iPad using touch and drag with their finger and also through the guided access accessibility option. Guided access allows you to lock the iPad on one specific program so students don't accidentally exit out of the application they are using. Helping my students be independent with accessing technology is the first step in facilitating their confidence and academic growth. Thank you for your support!
