It's amazing to think that a simple, comfortable chair can go a long way for a student who struggles with everyday things we sometimes take for granted. If we receive the thirty student chairs, I feel my students will be more comfortable in class which will help them gain the self-confidence needed to become successful. The chairs they are currently using are on their last leg so to speak. We gathered them from the dumpster area and field houses. They are the misfit chairs that we so wish to replace. Having appropriate seating for a high school student would help instill a sense of value for learning. Even though we cannot control what the students encounter after the 3:00 bell, we can help make their day at school be comfortable and enjoyable.
