As an elementary school counselor I am a big believer in FUN!! What is the best way to manage stress, learn new coping strategies, start and keep friendships, have a great relationship with your teachers, and learn to persevere when the classwork gets tough? Keeping humor and positive mindset as a priority helps keep emotional regulation skill development on the right track for students. Using PLAYFUL approaches helps worried and angry students to relax, feel connected and stay motivated to keep working. Our counseling spaces include fun activities and games to engage the child's natural language of play. I work with all age levels from TK & kindergarten through 5th grade through small groups, lunch bunches, in-class lessons, whole school recess support activities, as well as individual student, family and teacher support.
