Adventure-Based Programs work. We are an inner-city elementary school that is comprised of over 90% students whose families live in poverty. The location of the school is next to apartments that has become a breeding ground for crime and gang-activity. I have served students that have sold marijuana by the 4th grade and others that have thrown chairs at teachers in the 2nd grade. I am constantly looking for ways to reach my students. Adventure-Based activities do an excellent job of connecting with kids!
