I am a new counselor at a Primary School (Pre-k, K, 1, 2). I am seeking to purchase a few items that will strengthen my school counseling program and help me to provide effective guidance for my young students. The tools I have selected will help build social skills, improve self-expression, and manage sensory irregularities. The items include Q's Race to the Top collection of games and activities to explore social skills, manners, and emotion regulation. Other items, such as the fidgets and inflatable pea pod will be used to help soothe students with sensory issues that may arise during the school day. I have also included a wooden alphabet puzzle and the classic game of Operation to be utilized with students who need to strengthen fine motor skills. Education in schools encompasses more than academics. It includes socioemotional development and character education which also effect students' potential. All of the items I have selected will be used in individual and group counseling, or classroom guidance lessons. I love being a school counselor. I am looking forward to getting started at my new school. Please join me in serving this community by donating to this project.
