My students are creative and inspiring. They are why I am learning so many things that are (more than a little) outside my comfort zone. It is because of them that I started teaching AP Computer Science (first time it has been offered in our school) two years ago in Fall 2012. It is because of them that I have pursued and earned the right to teach Advanced CS Principles for Fall 2014 as a Pilot Instructor. My school is large - 1600 students. It is diverse - 40% minority (roughly 20% black and 10% Hispanic). It is rich in tradition and it is filled with students who are independent, driven, and who are motivated toward self-expression. We are still working hard to learn and acquire enough technology to support student demand. These funds will help us to do both. These funds will help me to be a more effective teacher. Thank you in advance for your support!
