Research supports that student success is enhanced through engagement in real-world learning activities. My Project-Based Learning experience for my Marine Science students involves setting up and maintaining aquariums. A fully-funded experience would provide my students, many of which have not been exposed to this type of science project, opportunities to produce marine projects that actually create an active, realistic learning environment. Science is doing. In groups, students will be responsible for the maintenance of their assigned aquarium. That includes water sample testing, pH, nitrate, and ammonia measuring, and caring for aquatic life. Last year, I was able to get some items donated from students and parents, but this year, we'd like to take it to the next level! We'll need YOUR help!
