Home away from home is what I want my students to feel when they are at school. Over the last few years I have purchased many seating options for the classroom but they have broken or been worn out. Students in my Functional Life Skills class love having an area where they can relax, read a book, and build on social skills with peers. With your support in funding my project my special needs students will be able to relax, develop reading skills and work on social skills that are fundamental for independence. This project will allow me to finish setting up my reading and cool down are. It will be a great addition to the classroom. In addition to serving as a reading area this couch will help with behavior interventions because they often need a comfy are to sit in. The cubbies will house books, technology and reinforces. I hope you find it in your hears to fund my project and bring a smile to my kiddos faces.
