Our school is a great learning environment for all of our scholars. As we grow, one area that hasn't been fully realized yet is our specials program. The purchase of these recorders, ukuleles, and strings will help begin to build our music program and give our scholars an opportunity to learn the basics of music theory and performance.
I believe a strong foundation in the arts is key to student happiness and success. The ability to play an instrument is a skill that will stay with our scholars through the rest of their lives, and is a gift and perspective I would love to share with them.
I envision our music room as an environment to foster community and character development with our scholars. Through discussion of music and its many connections to other subject areas, as well as the ways music touches our lives, we hope to build a safe space for students to come in during their free time to play music or connect with other students or faculty. Thank you for helping to make this happen.
