On May 1st, 2019, our school will be hosting National Signing Day for Post-Secondary Plans. All high school seniors will be showing the whole school and community what their plans for after high school are. In an effort to make this a memorable event and celebration, we would like to offer raffle prizes for students making a commitment to their future. With the help of donors through DonorsChoose and Better Make Room we will be able to provide prizes for all seniors committing on May 1st, at our school. With the help of this program, our school is offering a way to help motivate students to complete many of the initial tasks that it takes to have a successful start to their post-secondary lives. Students are given 14 tasks to complete throughout the school year that will allow for all students to be able to pursue education after high sch. Students are expected to complete at least 10 of these tasks in order to be eligible to receive the larger prizes that are on our requested list. Examples of the tasks requested to complete are applications to the places in which they plan to pursue their education after high school, requesting transcripts, and a documenting a campus visit. This will be our second year participating in this event and I believe it is one of the greatest things that we can do as a high school to promote education and a college going culture to all students in the high school.
