Funded Sep 24, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation in order for the Computer Coding Class to purchase new chairs. You have helped my students be "seated for success". These chairs have had an amazing impact on not only the aesthetics of the classroom, but the comfort and focus of my students.
We have utilized these chairs in a number of our new projects. We have dissected old laptops, worked on coding, game theory and blogged from the comfort of the new chairs. The students love that the chairs are very adjustable. The wheels allow them to scoot over to their classmate to share project or assist with one.
As a teacher, I appreciate these chairs because I have noticed a huge improvement in their focus and attention. The students are no longer disputing over who will sit in which chair because all the chairs are uniform. It's also nice that I no longer have to worry about a student injuring themselves on a broken chair. I also enjoy that they are easy to wheel around to quickly reconfigure the room.
Thank you again for helping the Computer Coding class to improve comfort and learning!”

Let's Get Digital! Create & Design with Bamboo Tablets
Funded Mar 26, 2015Your generous donation of digital drawing tablets has made a huge impact on our students. Thank you so much for helping the coding class to succeed. I have seen some amazing projects created by our students in the last few weeks. It is amazing to see how creative the students can be when they have the proper tools.
My students and I really appreciate your generosity. Thank you so much for helping to cultivate truly kinesthetic experiences for the students. To witness the light that turns on when a student brings their design to life is priceless. You are the power that helps turn those lights on. I am so grateful for people like you!”

Help Build the Tinker Lab
Funded Aug 25, 2014This project has made an amazing impact on my students. Your generous donations have helped us to procure much needed equipment like the Little Bits Kits, Arduino UNO's and many craft and tinkering supplies. We have used items to build various projects. One of which was a Lego tow truck that has a paperclip crane. These amazing kits have taught them problem solving skills, decomposition, and persistence when faced with a problem that is not easily solved.
We were also able to build ScribbleBots. The ScribbleBots were built with simple craft supplies and small DC craft motors. The students were able to conceptualize, prototype, test and evaluate their designs. Students were able to practice communication skills by explaining how they intended their designs to work. After testing, they wrote an evaluation on how it actually worked and what they could do to improve their design. This process is known as the design loop. There is no better way to learn this process than to have a hands on experience.
