When you were in school, mundane lessons and repetitive learning was not very motivating. Students need to feel engaged, challenged and excited to allow learning to "stick". My classroom would greatly benefit from these games. Monopoly Jr. would promote business and financial acumen, games such as Operation Perfection and Jenga will test their fine motor skills. Math will come alive through Yahtzee, Trouble, Uno and cards. We are in the lowest socioeconomic school in our county. These students rarely have a chance to play the games most of us took for granted growing up. Funding this project would change their educational landscape.
