I have about 200 students spread out over six Physical Education Classes. I teach five sections of Freshmen PE and one section of Team Sports. Over 80% of my students receive a free or reduced-cost lunch, and are from diverse backgrounds. PE is often one of the few times in the day that my students can truly express themselves and be kids. My students love to express themselves through movement. Many of them enjoy traditional games such as basketball, and volleyball; however, many of them also enjoy fitness walking with friends, dancing, and creating their own activities. In my class, students are exposed to a variety of different physical activities to accommodate as many interests as possible. Through doing this, my students are likely to find an activity they like and are more likely to be physically active throughout their lives.
