I have a high minority student population and with that, comes a high percent that are economically disadvantaged. My students are good kids. They are smart, funny, and high energy. They are also highly unmotivated and feel that others do not care for their education. At out school, our classes are split into Pre-AP, GT and General Education. My students fall under General Education. They don't want to be here here 50 percent of the time. They would rather be at home, texting their friends, playing video games, drawing, etc. Anything other than school. However, through my limited resources I have been able to have excellent lessons and discussions with my students through the years. Each year I have been able to get the most of my students. But my options for lessons are limited. Worksheets, power points and videos only go so far. My students want to learn but motivating them to learn is a constant struggle. Resources are needed in my classroom to improve my daily lessons.
