Collaborative tables and seating allows students to take charge of their learning and help those around them to allow for better understanding for all. During labs and independent work times, students are able to work together in order to be successful on each assignment. By having students sit in groups, it has cut down on class distractions as they know they are allowed to speak within their group rather than yell across the class. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice to work together or alone. They are more engaged and get more work completed during the class period.
