Help us bridge the gap between my students and students of more affluent schools. My school caters to a predominantly low income Hispanic and African American population. We are a Title 1 School where most of the students qualify for free or reduced meals. Many of my students' parents or caregivers do not have a high school education. Since our school is a high turn over school and many students come to us 1 to 2 grade levels behind, there is a lack of basic mathematical, reading, and writing skills. In addition, the majority of my students lack basic computer skills (most don’t own computers), and as a result, they are at a disadvantage when required to perform online searches. Because our school is a program improvement school, we have implemented intervention strategies to scaffold the learning process in hopes of preventing our students from falling further behind. Help me help my students by supporting us.
