Biotechnology! Science has progressed to the point where things like DNA testing are quick and efficient. High school seniors can insert glowing plasmids into bacteria with some amount of success. Given the proper equipment, high school teachers can guide their students into the world of biotechlology. The methods the students could learn would give them a head start into this realm of science. Pharmaceutical companies make millions of dollars per year. Texas A&M University recently build a biotechnology training center to support the vaccine industry. Wouldn't it be awesome if we could teach some biotechnology to our high school juniors and seniors?
