No student learns alike. Some students benefit from sitting down and completing assignments using paper and pencil. Some students need hands-on activities to learn information. Some students need continual practice while others need games to reinforce the information. Whatever the case, I want to make sure that I am able to provide for my students the best way that I can. I want to be able to help foster these students' mathematical abilities and give them opportunities to explore freely, think critically, and apply creatively. Math manipulative such as Unifex cubes, plastic money, place value manipulatives, and geometric shape kits will all work to provide my students with the opportunity to develop and grow in their math education to reach their maximum potential.
