I am requesting a subscription to Scholastic News and Choices Magazines for a year of stimulating, non-fiction reading about current events and SEL topics that cover core curriculum content We will also be able to have access to digital-learning resources that will enhance the lessons. Scholastic Magazine is an incredible source for building nonfiction reading and SEL skills as it engages students. These monthly subscriptions, are designed to be at the students reading level and increase their knowledge on current world events. These events span across multiple content areas, and are also great tools to help teenagers navigate their emotions with SEL skills. These subscriptions will provide the students with a multitude of educational magazines throughout the school year covering a wide variety of topics. Scholastic News and Choices Magazines enhance student engagement by helping students make connections to the informative articles as well as a variety of SEL topics. It expands their knowledge in a developmentally appropriate way on worldly topics as they practice reading skills they are learning. Choices magazine will help students practice the SEL skills we have been practicing in our classroom. By incorporating the stimulating nonfiction articles and the online resources I will be able to meet the needs of all the students in my classroom. My students will learn about nonfiction and SEL topics in a fun and exciting way.
