Do your students beg to do STEM activities? Mine do! My students love hands-on learning and STEM activities are one way I get my students to take an active role in their learning and thinking critically about how to be creative and solve problems. "Makey Makey" kits are a fun way to explore how circuits function. My goal is to use the "Makey Makey" kits to demonstrate how circuits and electrical currents work, and also to demonstrate what types of materials conduct electricity. These "Makey Makey" kits will allow me to teach multiple science objectives, while also showing my students a good time! Students will participate in a number of investigations using this tool. In addition, students will create a project using "Makey Makey" that illustrates their knowledge of circuits, while at the simultaneously integrating the arts, such as music. These activities will allow my students the chance to learn in a fun and authentic way! Students will discover the importance of communication and collaboration with their classmates. This experience will be memorable for all students and I can't wait to see the creativity that flows into in my classroom as we explore with "Makey Makeys"!
