The profile of a South Carolina graduate reflects the learning goals of all 21st-century students. Beginning even at the elementary level, it is my goal as a first-grade teacher to foster "World-Class Knowledge" where students engage with rigorous standards to prepare them for career and college readiness. STEM bin kits will enhance "World-Class Skills" by challenging students' creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork. By giving students early opportunities to develop "Life and Career Characteristics," I will facilitate STEM learning so that students can grow in Integrity, Self-Direction, Global Perspective, Perseverance, Work Ethic, and Interpersonal Skills.
